Chitra Kumar is a seasoned environmental policy leader, strategic advisor, and coach with a focus on advancing high-impact, equitable solutions across the United States. Her work spans with an emphasis on translating policy into practice in ways that deliver durable outcomes for both communities and the environment.

Over the course of her career, Chitra has worked at the intersection of science, policy, and governance—supporting efforts that address complex environmental challenges while centering environmental justice. She brings a strong understanding of U.S. policy frameworks and the realities of implementation at the federal, state, and local levels.

She has led and supported large-scale initiatives that bring together diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, philanthropic institutions, and community-based organizations. Known for her ability to navigate complexity, she helps clients align priorities, build coalitions, and move from vision to execution with clarity and focus.

Chitra’s approach is both strategic and grounded.
